Interior Paper Options

Each book has something unique to say. We work closely with authors to find the perfect weight, color and finish for their interior paper. Choose from two styles of interior paper: uncoated and coated.

Uncoated Interior Paper Stocks

Uncoated paper is the most popular interior paper choice. Our uncoated stocks are acid free, ensuring your book can be enjoyed for years to come! We offer two colors of uncoated paper: White and Natural. White paper is a traditional option that provides a neutral background for text and images. Natural paper is a minimally treated paper type that appears cream in color.

60lb White Text

This weight is our most popular and cost-effective interior stock. Often considered the “sweet spot” for most books, 60lb White Text is both durable and flexible enough to be held comfortably for long periods at a time.

70lb White Text

Being slightly thicker than traditional stock, 70lb White Text is an opaque option that should be considered for books with color images. The increased opacity helps prevent your content from being seen through your pages while also reducing overall spine thickness.

80lb White Text

As our thickest interior stock option, 80lb White Text should be considered for image-heavy books. This sturdy option provides maximum durability and crease-resistance, allowing your book to be enjoyed over and over again.

50lb White Text

As our most lightweight option, 50lb White Text is the best choice for conserving spine width. This option is great at reducing overall book weight and is commonly used in books with 600 or more pages.

60lb Natural Text

Also known as “warm white,” 60lb Natural Text is a minimally treated paper that appears cream in color. This is a great choice for authors wanting to convey a historic or warm feeling with their books.

70lb Natural Text

The heavier of our natural paper options, 70lb Natural Text adds another level of durability to your book. The added thickness of this stock increases the opacity of each page while also imparting a warm, historical feeling.

Coated Interior Paper Stocks

Coated paper is paper that has been coated with a mixture of materials or a polymer. This technique gives the paper a smooth, waxier surface and adds a level of elegance to your book. We offer two coated finishes: Dull and Gloss. Also known silk, Dull is a non-reflective finish that gives your pages a softer look and feel. Gloss is a reflective coating that adds shine to your pages.

80lb Dull Text

80lb Dull Text incorporates a non-reflective finish that helps reduce glare and makes pages soft to the touch. This makes it a great choice for books with combinations of text and images.

80lb Gloss Text

80lb Gloss Text is a great option for authors looking to make a lasting impact. The reflective coating utilized by this stock adds a layer of sheen to your content, perfect for books with lots of color images.

Recycling

Our primary paper stocks are FSC, SFI and Rainforest Alliance certified. This means the production of our stocks passes a high level of scrutiny from multiple independent organizations devoted to responsible sourcing. We also recycle 100% of the byproduct from both our paper processing as well as our printer waste (toner, toner cartridges, parts, etc). We use energy efficient digital presses by Canon, who recently earned the EPA’s Energy Star Partner of the Year award.
